There was excitement again at the Happy Valley Card Club one Saturday\nafternoon. People were gathered around a table where a dealer was dealing three\ncards from a deck face down on the table, then, a bit later, three cards face up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jake was curious and approached the dealer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow\u2019s this game work, Charlie?\u201d asked Jake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, you bet five dollars, then I shuffle and lay three cards face\ndown on the table, after which you guess what the suits of the cards are,\u201d said\nCharlie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou mean like two clubs and a heart, or three spades, or two diamonds\nand a club, and so on?\u201d asked Jake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s right, Jake. If you guess the suits correctly, then you win ten\ndollars,\u201d said Charlie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf your guess is wrong, then I\u2019ll shuffle and lay down three cards\nface up. If there are no aces among the three cards, then you get another\nchance to guess the next three cards I deal face down for free,\u201d said Charlie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHmm, sounds interesting. Let\u2019s give it a go,\u201d said Jake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
